Join us during UK Sausage Week on Friday 1st November for our monthly Court Lunch, when the guest speaker will be Alderman & Sheriff Gregory Jones KC invited in celebration of his new City role and connection to us as a fellow Butcher. Officially appointed as Sheriff for 2024/25 on 30 September 2024 at Guildhall.

About our speaker, Alderman & Sheriff Gregory Jones KC.

Gregory practices law at the Francis Taylor Building, specialising in town and country planning, environmental law, and related fields. He is a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn and Inner Temple and works as an associate tenant at KBW Chambers in Leeds, as well as in Belfast and Dublin. An accomplished author of legal texts, Gregory has experience with the European Commission and served as the first Jean Pierre Warner Scholar at the European Court of Justice. In 2015, he was appointed by the Irish government to chair an expert review of An Bord Pleanála.

Gregory is the Sheriff-Elect for 2024-25 and will serve as Aldermanic Sheriff at the Old Bailey. He was a Common Councillor from 2012 to 2016 and currently holds several leadership roles, including Deputy Chair of the Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood and Queen's Park Committee and Chair of both the Magistracy and Livery Sub-Committee and the Emanuel Hospital Management Sub-Committee.

Gregory is a Liveryman of the Leathersellers', Butchers' and Arbitrators' Companies.

The price of the lunch is £105 per person, inc VAT which includes drinks reception, a three-course lunch with wine, and a Stirrup Cup.

We will also be enjoying sausage canapes from the new Supreme Champion who will have been announced at the UK Sausage Week Awards ceremony earlier that week, courtesy of Meat Management.
