Join us at Butchers’ Hall on Friday, 7th November, for a monthly Court Lunch, when we will welcome Sharon Ament, Director of the London Museum, as our guest speaker.

Sharon Ament is Director of the London Museum and is currently leading the process of creating a new museum for London in Smithfield, due to open in 2026. Sharon joined the London Museum in 2012, steering the next phase of the organisation’s development to more fully reflect the energy and dynamism of London itself.

She is Chair of the London Screen Archives, a member of the Worshipful Company of Bakers, a Noyce Leadership Fellow, and serves on the Conseil Scientifique of Universcience in Paris and the International Advisory Board of the ArtScience Museum in Singapore.

Sharon’s career was founded in the fields of natural history and conservation, working with the Natural History Museum, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), and The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. In all of her work, she has been involved in developing places that are meaningful to people.

She is particularly interested in how cultural and creative infrastructure—such as museums, galleries, libraries, theatres, heritage sites, and all the other public spaces in between—can stimulate personal lifelong interests, encourage critical thinking, and foster a real sense of belonging. Sharon has explored how cultural infrastructure can be nurtured within both urban and rural contexts to be deeply meaningful for many.

The price of the lunch is £105 per person, inc VAT which includes drinks reception, a three-course lunch with wine, and a Stirrup Cup.
