The election....a historic occasion

All Liverymen admitted on or before 31 May 2025 are invited to attend the Election of Sheriffs at Guildhall on Wednesday 24 June 2026. A lunch at Butchers’ Hall will follow, open to Liverymen and their guests (booking required).

This annual election is one of the City of London’s most important events. As an eligible Liveryman, you have the right to vote and help choose the Sheriffs for the coming year.

The role of Sheriff is the oldest civic office in the City—even predating the Lord Mayor—so your participation helps uphold tradition and shape the future of the Square Mile.

Then Lunch...

After the formalities, we invite you to join the Master with fellow Liverymen and other Livery companies for a Lunch at Butchers' Hall, which includes a glass of prosecco on arrival, and a 3-course lunch.

Arrive at Guildhall from 11.15am to be seated by 11.45am for the Election.

Lunch follows for those who have booked at 1.30m approx. at Butchers' Hall.

You may book to attend both the Election and Lunch, or make a booking for Election Pass only.

Friends, colleagues, and family members are very welcome to join the lunch; however, only qualifying Liverymen may attend the Election.

Strawberry Dream

vanilla bavarois with set strawberries, strawberry sesame glaze, strawberry sorbet

.....all thoughtfully prepared and beautifully served, accompanied by our signature wines. Dessert may be substituted with a choice of fine British cheeses.

• We are happy to accommodate dietary requirements. After booking, a member of our team will contact you to confirm your requirements.

• This event requires a minimum number of guests to proceed. Should this not be met, a refund will be offered.
