Election of the Lord Mayor & Lunch 2026
The Election of the Lord Mayor at Guildhall is one of the most significant occasions in the City of London calendar.
As a Liveryman, you are entitled to vote provided you were admitted before 31 May 2025 and are summoned to attend Common Hall on Tuesday 29 September to elect the Lord Mayor for the coming year.
The successful candidate will become the 698th Lord Mayor of the City of London, so we strongly encourage you to take part in this important and historic event.
Election passes will be arranged in advance through the office. Please note that passes are mandatory for admission to Guildhall.
Then Lunch...
After the formalities, we invite you to join the Master with fellow Liverymen and other Livery companies for a Lunch at Butchers' Hall, which includes a glass of prosecco on arrival, and a 3-course lunch.
Arrive at Guildhall from 11.15am to be seated by 11.45am for the Election. Election bookings will open in April.
Lunch follows for those who have booked at 1.30m approx. at Butchers' Hall. Lunch bookings are now open.
You may book to attend both the Election and Lunch, or make a booking for Election Pass only from April.
Friends, colleagues, and family members are very welcome to join the lunch; however, only qualifying Liverymen may attend the Election.
