Aberlour Children’s Charity

Aberlour’s purpose is to bring a brighter future to children and families facing disadvantage in Scotland.

We help children and families who are struggling to cope. We have been giving children safe and loving homes since 1875 and now offer services including care for children with disabilities, family support programmes and activities for young people at risk of exclusion.

Having celebrated our 150th anniversary, we stand firm in our founding belief that,

“Every child has the ability and indeed the right to grow up and flourish in society, notwithstanding the origins of their birth.” - Canon Charles Jupp, founder of Aberlour Orphanage.

Not all children are born with an equal chance. Our vision is to overcome disadvantage of poverty and discrimination so that every child in Scotland can thrive.

Bringing communities together to inspire Scotland’s Young People

We help young people explore their interests by offering experiences and opportunities to develop skills, build relationships and have fun.

This partnership with the Worshipful Company of Butchers will fund our programme of diverse activities for young people across Scotland, which can be anything from visiting a farm, exploring culture and art to taking part in outdoor adventures.

Liverymen and businesses will also provide hands on experiences for young people in the meat industry and its supply chain.

Our aim if for young people to be included, interested and empowered to learn and connect with their communities.

We want young people in Scotland to have the same opportunities to reach their potential and, through this, contribute to a fairer and more equal society.

Thank you to the Worshipful Company of Butchers, Liverymen and businesses for bringing joy to Scotland’s children.
