Highlights included a keynote address by Scott Hamer, the presentation of the 2025 Gary Baker Award, the welcome of two new Freemen, and recognition of prize winners from the 200 Club and Champagne raffle, all set within a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Two trips to Glasgow, signing The Armed Forces Covenant at Court, processing through the streets of the City of London to Mansion House, returning the next day to dinner at the Mansion House, the United Guilds Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, an interesting and uplifting visit to Plumpton College, lunch at The Old Bailey with the Judges and dining with Furniture Makers and Coopers and Master Mariners …who said being Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers wasn’t a challenge?

The Boar’s Head ceremony is one of the oldest ceremonies in The City of London, and it is when The Worshipful Company of Butchers parade through The City to Mansion House to present the Lord Mayor of The City of London with a ‘boar’s head’! Apparently, this can trace its origins back to 1343, when John Hammond (a grocer) was The City's Lord Mayor.
