Butchers' Hall Welcomes the Elizabeth Line

Published on: 24 May 2022

Farringdon Station is less than five minutes from our front door!

It seems appropriate that the first section of the Elizabeth Line, opened on 24th May, is open for Liverymen of the Worshipful Company of Butchers and their guests to make their way to Butchers’ Hall to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the Court Lunch on Friday 10th June.

The lunch, sold out in record time, promises to be a spectacular event with traditional fayre fit for a King or Queen.

“We’ve always seen the wonderful facilities of Butchers’ Hall as being fully accessible to Liverymen, the Industry and commercial customers and the Elizabeth Line certainly helps bring that to reality.”

The central section of the Elizabeth Line, which saw 1 million journeys in its first 5 days, runs between Abbey Wood and Paddington with the journey time between the two stations being cut by half to around 29 minutes. Journey times between Farringdon, which serves Butchers’ Hall, and Paddington is cut from 19 minutes to just 7 while Farringdon to Canary Wharf now takes 10 minutes compared with the previous 24.
