Carol Glover beginning her talk

Carol Glover: 'Brave New You'

On the 19th of May 2026, speaker Carol Glover, made a returning visit to Butchers Hall, following the success of her event last year, to provide an insightful talk about personal growth, opening your mind and becoming a ‘brave new you’. We are very greatful for AIMS generously sponsoring this event.

The day consisted of a variety of activities. Attendees were asked to write down on a post it note how they wanted to leave the talk feeling, then at the end, were asked to write on the back of the same post it note what they are going to leave the event doing differently to achieve this, having been given this fresh perspective.

Later in the day, each person was given a sheet with seven questions to fill in as Carol spoke through each one. She called these questions the 7Cs, and they are used to help you become a leader of your own life.

The focus point of the day was her stance on AI. She shared that she speaks to her AI chat bots, Claud and chat GPT (which she has nicknamed Chad) as though they were her friends. She explained that she believes we should not fear AI advancing, but embrace it. She shared a quote:

“I was going to reverse the decline in human intelligence. Now I’m going to stop people abandoning it”

Showing how she believes that shying away from AI and letting it take control, will only let it become what people are afraid it will. She believes that we would all benefit from learning to work with it, to learn, grow and improve ourselves.

Guests then attended a networking buffet style lunch, to share ideas about what had been discussed so far. It was a wonderful chance to hear others’ views on the topics raised.

A panel discussion with Liveryman Rob Yandell and Ms Jayne Whittaker was another great chance to hear and learn from others’ experiences in running family businesses. They shared their stories which were very motivating and moving. Jayne Whittaker shared that when she was unexpectedly left to run her business, she did not think she was capable, but she then discovered she really did have the knowledge and ability to do what she didn’t think she could.

All those that were fortunate enough to join us at Butchers Hall for this event were left with a fresh perspective and a newfound sense of confidence, with many recommending Carols events.
