Each year, the Gold Award is presented to a Liveryman who has worked tirelessly to support the Company over the previous twelve months. Choosing a winner is never easy — there are always so many worthy candidates — and this year was no exception.
Francesca Wyatt is this year's recipient, and it's fair to say those who know her are unsurprised. Passionate and committed to everything she signs up to, Fran has, in the last year alone, thrown herself into endeavours that have been varied, to say the least.
Admitted as a Liveryman in 2022, Fran has been keen to take on a challenge from day one. This year that spirit saw her carrying a large inflatable rib of beef and running as part of our Flying Porkers team at the Inter-Livery Pancake Race — both taken on with the kind of impressive, infectious enthusiasm that has become her trademark. She has also been a constant presence in the organisation and planning of our fundraising efforts, and instrumental in actively recruiting, nurturing and supporting our Corporate Partners.
None of this is easy work, but it has all been fully embraced, to the lasting benefit of her fellow Liverymen and the Company as a whole.
Fran also took on the role of media star, appearing on the BBC at The Lady Mayor's Show 2025 to unveil the specially created "Lady Mayor's Sausage," produced by her company for the occasion. The sausage was described as honest, hearty, and salt-of-the-earth — a recipe said to echo its creator's wisdom, compassion, open-mindedness and energy. Those same qualities could just as easily describe this year's worthy winner.
Fran, congratulations. You are a truly deserving recipient of the Gold Award 2026
