UK Sausage Week (UKSW) will return on Monday 28th October, starting off with a celebration lunch at the newly refurbished and reopened Butchers’ Hall, where the UK Supreme Sausage Champion will be revealed alongside a host of regional and category winners.
The Worshipful Company of Butchers is one of 14 partners supporting UK Sausage Week, which runs annually to promote sales and awareness.
With many butchers, supermarkets, foodservice and manufacturers across the UK involved, winners of the UKSW Competition often report significant increases in sausage sales and companies and retailers who innovate and get involved can maximise on the profile UKSW has. The week normally attracts significant national and local media interest and coverage.
The competition to find this year’s winners took place back in September at the Regional Food Academy test kitchens, located at Harper Adams University. The judging team, including experts from Ladies in Pigs (LIPS) evaluated over 500 different sausages and was headed up by Chief Judge and Liveryman, Keith Fisher. Keith said: “Entries this year from butchers, manufacturers’ and retailers, plus foodservice, were outstanding and there are some very worthy winners.”
All results will be announced and presented at the sell-out celebration lunch at Butchers’ Hall, London on 28th October which is hosted by the 2019 UKSW Ambassador, TV chef and food businesswoman Lesley Waters.

Canapés of the UK Supreme Sausage will be served in the reception of the November Court Lunch at Butchers’ Hall on Friday 1st November, as part of UK Sausage Week. HRH The Princess Royal will be attending to officially open the Hall.
