Charity Applications for 2020-2022 Major Awards Open

Published on: 2 April 2019

The Worshipful Company of Butchers is inviting applications from registered charities wishing to be considered for financial support in the region of £20,000 p.a. from January 2020.

Charity is, of course, one of the fundamental principles of the WCB and the Butchers are highly regarded for making charitable contributions to organisations supporting individuals less fortunate than ourselves.

The two main beneficiaries on our current funding cycle are Teach First and Theodora Children’s Charity, and some wonderful work has been carried out, not just in term of funds, but the time and support given from Liverymen.

The new funding cycle and applications

Further details on the eligibility and criteria for the next three year funding cycle can be found in the Charity section of the website.

The application should be submitted in writing to the Chair of the Education and Charity Committee at 4th Floor, 14 Charterhouse Square, London EC1M 6AX. It should include details of the charity and the purpose of the funding.

All applications must be supported by a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers who must, in the event of a successful application, maintain an active relationship between the Company and the charity throughout the period of funding.

Applications must be submitted by 1st May 2019 and successful applicants will be invited to present to the Committee during July, August and September.
