On Friday 5th September, the Company gathered at the elegant Butchers’ Hall to celebrate the 2024/25 Master's Farewell Court Lunch. The occasion was marked by warm fellowship, delightful conversation, and, of course, exquisite food.
We were particularly pleased to welcome back to our Livery home actors Michael Fenton Stevens and Robert Bathurst, who's presence added charm and liveliness to the afternoon.
The menu was nothing short of exceptional, with special thanks to Liveryman Christian Nissen of Highland Game, who generously donated Loin of Wild Venison (Red Deer) for the main course, and to Liveryman Matt Hill of Cobble Lane Cured, who provided a superb selection of cured meats to start the meal. The Deputy Master also kindly donated a case of champagne for the raffle.
A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the Gold Award to Liveryman Alan Bird, in recognition of his outstanding achievements and dedication to the Company, particularly for his efforts in organising the Company's very successful Meat Industry Invitational Golf Day.
We were also honoured to welcome distinguished guests, including Adrian Udal, The Master of the Worshipful Company of Girdlers, accompanied by his Clerk Nick Archer MVO; Dr Antony Michalski, The Master of the Worshipful Company of Barbers, accompanied by his Clerk Col Malachy Doran; and Liveryman Mike Cahill, The Master of Taurus Lodge No. 3981.
The event also saw the introduction of New Liverymen: David Maher, Philip Allison, and Terry Murray, who were warmly welcomed into the Company.
